| Purpose: |
To provide an introduction to soccer for the young players and parents. The player is the focus and concepts of team or team results is not important. Instructions will focus on simple ball mastery; ball control, dribbling, basic body movements while having fun without stress. |
| Director: |
The BASC Executive Board will select a Director for the U-5 program. This position will require a State D or a State Youth license. The director will obtain at least 4 volunteers to assist in training sessions. This will allow for a rotation of assistants and fluctuation of schedule. The assistant should have a minimum of Module 1 or In-House training. The director will encourage involvement of parents for a one on one with child. |
| Academy Format: |
1) |
Players will be broken into large groups based on neighborhood/school for purpose of practice sessions. |

Players in groups will practice at the same time. |

3) |
Practice session will be divided into groups of 24 - 32 and no more than 50 players at each session at a given time. |

4) |
Director will supervise the practice session once per week. He will meet with the volunteer assistants prior to the session to communicate the training sessions. |

Training session will be divided into group activity for approximately 30 minutes. Players will then be divided and play 3v3. The session is limited to 60 minutes. Players will alternate teams each week. |

One parent or adult will participate in training session. |
| |
7) |
No club referees will be used, time will be kept by the director. |
| |
8) |
No score will be kept and players will rotate each team. |
