BASC Fall 2013 Developmental Under 5 Soccer Program Starts September 7, 2013
If your son/daughter is 4 before July 31, 2013 then they are eligible to participate in the U5 Developmental Program. This program is run “academy style”, no teams but instead training and New Ball games during sessions with similar skill level children.
8, one hour, sessions will be on Saturday afternoons after 4 p.m., after most other soccer activities are over for the day. The U5 Developmental Soccer Program activities will include dribbling, kicking, follow the leader, and many of other ways to get lots of touches on the ball. These are FUN, age appropriate activities that the kids will enjoy without knowing they are working on soccer basic fundamentals. We will divide up the last 30 minutes of sessions #2-8 to play a small sided game called New Ball. The parents help conduct these New Ball games as well as knocking the ball around with your child during the sessions. The emphasis is on Fun, to build a love of the game.
Sign up and pay online. You must take a certified copy to the BASC office to complete the registration process. The cost is $75 per child until July 14th. Beginning July 14th the cost is $95. Sessions begin in September for 8 sessions and will be held at the U6 fields at Indian Springs Sports Complex. See the U5 Fall 2013 Update page for session times.
Participants will need to have shin guards (covered by socks) and a size 3 ball. Each child will receive a BASC club T-Shirt as well. Parents will need to dress appropriately for moving around and participating. Bring plenty of water for yourself and your child. You will be contacted about the time of your session the week of September 1st. Due to space and session size constraints, early registration for this program is required.
